In case of the disc spring, accumulated energy per unit volume is much greater than that of the coil spring so it shows a very big loading capacity with short stroke in small space. A load-displacement curve straight line or nonlinear type is available according to the conditions for use. Depending on increase/decrease of the sheets of the disc spring or on series/parallel/combination, the spring can have different characteristics. If it is used within the allowable stress, its lifetime is long. It is good at absorbing shocks and its shock-absorbing efficiency becomes high if the springs are piled up for use.
